Sister Patricia Francis Sharron (Lillian)

Sister Patricia Francis Sharron (Lillian), 93, beloved member of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Springfield died at Mont Marie Health Care Center in Holyoke, Mass. on Christmas morning, December 25, 2018. A native of North Adams, Mass., she was the daughter of George and Elizabeth (Moore) Sharron.

Sister entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of Springfield from St. Francis Parish, North Adams in 1943.  She graduated from St. Joseph High School, North Adams and earned a B.A. from the College of Our Lady of the Elms, Chicopee, Mass.

Sister Patricia Francis taught in the Diocese of Springfield at St. Mary School in Pittsfield and then taught first grade at Holy Name School in Springfield from 1947 to 1967.  Sister served in Diocesan Ministry at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Parish in Springfield and for many years  served on the diocesan staff at the Bishop’s Residence.

In addition to her Sisters in Community, Sister Patricia is survived by several generations of nieces and nephews. Sister was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and five sisters, including her sister in community Sr. Edward Maria.   Services for Sr. Patricia Francis will take place in St. Michael Cathedral on Friday, December 28, 2018. She will be waked from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm with a prayer service at 12:45pm. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will follow at 1:30 pm. Burial will be in Mont Marie Cemetery in Holyoke, Mass.
