The Dear Neighbor Fund is a project that began in 2016 with annual donations from many members of the Community of St. Joseph and gradually many others. The goal was to have a sustainable pot of money with which to respond quickly to emergencies like empty shelves at food pantries, damage done by destructive weather, or calls for help from human service organizations. We gradually added annual donations to projects, ministries, or organizations where members of the Community of St. Joseph worked on those that furthered our mission of uniting neighbor with neighbor and neighbor with God without distinction–whether they knew it or not. Donations go to organizations like the Gray House, Homework House, Jericho, Heartwing Center in Montague, Jewish Family Services, soup kitchens in Holyoke, and Chicopee, ministry done in Burkina Faso, at our southern border, Haiti, women released from incarceration in Chicopee, and many more.
