
Sister William Agnes Gillet (Helen), 94, beloved member of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Springfield died in Mont Marie Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Holyoke, Mass. on January 13, 2015. A native of Brockton, Mass., she was the daughter of William and Mary (Wilson) Gillet.
Sister William Agnes entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of Springfield in 1937 from St. Stephen Parish, Worcester. She graduated from St. Stephen High School and earned A.B. and M.A. degrees from the College of Our Lady of the Elms, Chicopee, Mass.
Sister ministered in the schools of the Diocese of Springfield as a teacher in Our Lady of Hope, Springfield; Immaculate Conception, West Springfield; Annunciation, Florence; and St. Joseph, North Adams. She served as Principal in Blessed Sacrament School, Greenfield. From 1969-2003 she served in St. Patrick School, Chicopee, first as Principal and then as school Librarian. She retired to St. Joseph Residence, Mont Marie, Holyoke, MA in 2003.
In addition to her Sisters in Community, she is survived by several nieces and nephews.
