
Sister Edward Maria Sharron, (Elizabeth), 87, beloved member of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Springfield in her 71st year in the Congregation, died in Mont Marie Health Care Center in Holyoke, Mass. on March 6, 2012. A native of North Adams, she was the daughter of George and Elizabeth (Moore) Sharron.
Sister Edward Maria entered the Congregation from St. Francis Parish, North Adams. She was graduated from St. Joseph High, North Adams and earned an A.B. degree from the College of Our Lady of the Elms, Chicopee, Mass.
In the Diocese of Springfield Sister Edward Maria ministered as a teacher at Holy Name, Cathedral Grammar and Holy Family Schools in Springfield; at St. Thomas School, West Springfield and St. Joseph School, Pittsfield. She taught in the Diocese of Worcester at St. Mary School, Milford. She served on the parish support staffs at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Parish and Our Lady of Hope Parish, Springfield and at the Bishop’s Residence. Sister retired in 2004 and became a resident of Mont Marie in 2007.
