
Sister Margaret Henry Blicharz (Veronica Rose), 91, beloved member of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Springfield, died on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Mont Marie Health Care Center in Holyoke, Mass. Born in West Rutland, Vermont, she was the daughter of Henry and Margaret (Czachor) Blicharz.
Sister Margaret Henry entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of Rutland in 1951 from St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish in West Rutland. She became a Sister of St. Joseph of Springfield when the Congregations merged in 2001. Sister graduated from Mt. St. Joseph Academy, Rutland, and earned her B.S. degree from the College of St. Joseph the Provider in Rutland, Vermont.
Among Sister’s teaching assignments were Christ the King School in Rutland; St. Michael’s School, Brattleboro; St. Mary’s School in Fair Haven; St. Anthony’s School in White River Junction and St. Stanislaus School in West Rutland.
In addition to her Sisters in Community, she is survived by her brother Henry Blicharz, her sister Dorothy Blicharz and several generations of loving nieces and nephews. Sister Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers and four sisters.
Services for Sister Margaret Henry will take place at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in West Rutland, Vt. on Saturday, August 4, 2018. A wake service will be held at 10:00 a.m. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
