
Sister Patricia Ritchie (Mary Albert), 77, beloved member of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Springfield for 59 years, died August 21, 2014 in Mont Marie Health Care Center, Holyoke, Mass. Born in Springfield, Mass., she was the daughter of Mary F. (McIntyre) (Ritchie) Seymour and Albert Ritchie, who died in 1942, and the stepdaughter of George A. Seymour.
Sister Patricia entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of Springfield from St. Michael’s Cathedral Parish, Springfield. She was graduated from Cathedral High School and earned an A.B. from the College of Our Lady of the Elms, Chicopee, Mass. and an M.A. Ed. from Catholic University of America, Washington, DC.
Her teaching positions included Holy Trinity School, Greenfield and St. Peter’s School, Worcester. She was Coordinator of the Mont Marie Conference Center and later secretary in the Social Security and Medical Insurance Office at Mont Marie.
In addition to her Sisters in community, she is survived by her twin brother Philip and his wife Joan of Warwick, RI; by her sisters-in-law Barbara Ritchie of Springfield and Dorothy Ritchie of Feeding Hills, Mass.; and by her nephew David of Springfield. She was predeceased by her brother Albert Ritchie.
