
Sister Margaret E. Walsh (Denis Mary), beloved member of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Springfield in her 58th year of religious life, died in Holyoke on August 27, 2013. Born in Northampton, Mass. she was the daughter of Denis and Dora (Glover) Walsh.
Sister entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of Springfield from St. Mary Parish, Northampton. Sister graduated from St. Michael High School, Northampton. She received an A.B. degree from the College of Our Lady of the Elms, Chicopee, an M.A. from Assumption College, Worcester, and a M.A. from LaSalle University,and a Certificate in Clinical Pastoral Education from St. Anne’s Hospital, Fall River, Mass.
Sister ministered in the Springfield Diocese as a teacher at Holy Trinity School, Greenfield; Our Lady of the Sacred Heart School and Holy Name School, Springfield; Sacred Heart School, and St. Jerome School, Holyoke and Annunciation School, Florence. She served as secretary at the Diocesan Religious Education Office, Springfield. She ministered in the Worcester Diocese as a teacher at St. Peter and St. Peter-Marian Schools and as a Pastoral Associate at St. Patrick Parish, Whitinsville. In the Fall River Diocese she taught at Bishop Feehan High School in Attleboro. In 2010, Sister entered the Health Care Center where she continued her outreach ministry to others.
