Sister Martina Anne Larkin (Mary Rita)

Sister Martina entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of Springfield from St. Peter’s Parish, Great Barrington after having been a member of the faculty of Searles High School, Great Barrington for several years. She was graduated from Searles High School and earned a B. A. degree from the College of Our Lady of the Elms, Chicopee, MA. She also pursued graduate studies in Latin at Georgetown University and Boston College. 

 

In the Diocese of Worcester Sr. Martina taught at St. Peter High School, Worcester; St. Mary High School, Milford; and St. Mary High School, Southbridge and in the Rhode Island Diocese at Sacred Heart High School, Pawtucket. In the Diocese of Springfield she taught at St. Mary High School, Westfield; and St. Jerome High School, Holyoke as well as serving as librarian at St. Mary’s and Holyoke Catholic High School. She retired to St. Joseph Residence, Mont Marie, Holyoke where she served on the support staff of the Child Care Center and the Office of Peace and Justice
