Sister Gertrude Anna Clark (Marguerita Maria), 91, beloved member of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Springfield, died on September 12, 2012 in Mont Marie Health Care Center, Holyoke. A native of Pittsfield, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Gilman R. and Anna G. (Burke) Clark.
Sister Gertrude entered the Sisters of St. Joseph in 1947 from St. Joseph Parish, Pittsfield, having graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1939 and Berkshire Business School in 1941. She completed her business training at Chicago University Extension. For many years she worked in the Business Office at the College of Our Lady of the Elms in Chicopee, Mass. In 1971 she joined the Mont Marie support staff where she provided invaluable service to the Congregation.
