Sister Patricia Anne Dolan, 80, beloved member of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Springfield in her 43rd year, died on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 in Rutland, Vt. Born in Rutland, she was the daughter of John and Caroline (Dye) Dolan.
She entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of Vermont in 1969 from Christ the King Parish, Rutland. She became a member of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Springfield in 2001 when the two Communities merged. She attended Christ the King School and was graduated from Rutland High School. She attended Mary Washington College, University of Virginia and graduated from The College of St. Joseph the Provider in Rutland.
Sister served at Christ the King School, Rutland as teacher and as resource aide for nearly thirty years. Sr. Patricia was an avid sportswoman, having worked in the Rutland Recreation Department for 18 years prior to entering the Sisters of St. Joseph. She also received awards from the Regional and Vermont State Poetry Contest and National Education Contest for several years in succession.
