Sister Mary Ann Corley

Sister Mary Ann Corley, (Margaret Joseph), 88, beloved member of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Springfield in her 56th year, died in Mont Marie Health Care Center in Holyoke on February 14, 2012. She was born in County Doone, Ireland, the daughter of John and Margaret (Gorman) Corley. Sister Mary entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of Springfield from the former Holy Rosary Parish, Holyoke, having graduated from Holy Rosary High School. She earned an AB degree from the College of Our Lady of the Elms, Chicopee and a M.Ed. from Boston University.

In the Diocese of Worcester Sister Mary taught in St. Ann High School. In the Springfield Diocese she taught at St. Joseph High School, Pittsfield; St. Joseph High School, North Adams and Holyoke Catholic High School where she served for thirty years. She retired in 2000 and became a member of the St. Joseph Retirement Residence in 2004. In 2005 she became a member of Mont Marie Health Care Center. Her love of music continued all her life.
